Italy: 300 Volunteers Mobilised as 500,000 Drug-Prevention Booklets Are Distributed
MILAN — 12 Feb. 2026 — Some 300 volunteers have been mobilised since January across Italy in a prevention-through-information campaign, handing out information resources titled “The Truth About Drugs”. According to organisers that over 500,000 copies have already been handed out, with Milan at the forefront and wider participation growing.
The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign within its broader support for drug education and prevention initiatives inspired by L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology. The campaign focuses on facts about substances and the physical and mental-health consequences associated with use.
The organisers further point to sports-community involvement. They say over 100 Milano Cortina 2026-linked athletes have signed the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, signalling support for youth-focused prevention messaging. According to organisers, sport helps reinforce healthy choices because it is associated with discipline, recovery and mental focus.
Ivan Arjona, the Church of Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, the Council of Europe and the UN, said: “Across Europe, youth safeguarding is both a public-health goal and a civic responsibility. Verified, accessible information strengthens informed decision-making, and it helps communities push back against exploitation linked to news eu wahlen drug markets.”
